Q. Who can read my files?
A. With backup to the Midwest Data Center, only you can read them! Before they leave your computer, all backed up files are encrypted with 448 bit encryption. You keep your encryption key private and can change it when you wish. Encrypted off-site backup also supports compliance to HIPAA.

Q. Is the storage server protected against power failures?
A. The Midwest Data Center has UPS protection and a standby electrical generator.

Q. How often can I access my data?
A. With Midwest Data Center you can access and restore your stored data files 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as often as you like.

Q. Do you have a local representative that can help fix problems and assist with a disaster recovery?
A. Midwest Data Center sales representatives are experienced technicians and can troubleshoot any backup problems that may occur.

Q. How will I know my backups are occurring?
A. After each Midwest Data Center backup an email report is sent to you. You can also check the backup manager on your computer at any time to see exactly which files were backed up on any date.

Q. What type of operating system (OS) do your storage servers use?
A. The Midwest Data Center storage servers use the Linux OS because Linux has been demonstrated to be highly resistant to viruses and other computer malware.

Q. What if the Internet service connection is down?
Midwest Data Center has Internet connectivity through two different Internet service providers.

Q. Where are my files stored?
A. All Midwest Data Center storage servers are in the USA.
